Sure it’s Tuesday, but yesterday was a holiday here in the US so today is essentially everyone’s Monday—at least here in America.
I wanted to share one of my favorite projects from last year from Greg Gunn. He challenged himself to create something each week. That challenge was Mythical Mondays, an animated gif of 52 different mythological creatures from various folklore around the world.
At the end of the year, he collected them all and created this wonderful montage with sound design by Adam Sanborne.
I’d love to see more designers and animators in our industry create such personal projects for themselves. With much of our time dedicated to selling products, apps, films and television shows, it’s refreshing to see a very busy designer such as Greg, also a creative director at Blind, find the time to feed his soul and sharpen his craft.
