Ramiro Torres: MTV Clipeados

Clipeados is another nice blend of film and vector characters/illustrations by Torres, this one with three sets of videos with vibes of dance and melody. The only real elements involve (apart from the obvious humans) are the turntable with objects here and there. What I like about this piece is that Torres has cast shadows and reflections of the vector based art onto the real objects. For example take a look at the duo of fish swimming/flying over the turntable — you see their (average) shadows that turns into a reflection as the fish move their way over the LP.

Another thing that I liked are the colourful twirly shapes that hover around the back of the peoples heads — is it supposed to be a visual response of their emotions to the music I don’t know but it adds an interesting touch to the background.
