Motion Takes Over: More Evidence

Rhino FX recently created a 100-yard wide animation to be displayed while the Baltimore Ravens run a football up and down a field that just so happens to be roughly the same width as the video. The aspect ratio is hilarious, by the way.

The animation isn’t going to change your life, but I wanted to post it simply because it’s another example of how motion graphics is quickly taking over every imaginable space in our lives. Yes, there have been JumboTrons and similar technologies for decades, but their low resolution and slow refresh rates made for crude animations that never merited the services of a high-end studio.

Now, thanks to the brilliance of LED displays, the resolution has caught up with the dream. And it’s happening at every scale imaginable. From mobile phones to stadiums, the language of motion graphics has become the lingua franca of the 21st century. The world is our canvas, now more than ever.
