Ruairi Robinson’s “The Silent City”

Ruairi Robinson’s darkly humorous “Fifty Percent Grey” was nominated for a Best Short Animated Film Oscar a few years back. Now he’s back with a live action short film entitled “The Silent City.”

There’s a great shot breakdown movie that shows off some nice compositing work. I know it gives away my perennial n00bishness to say so, but I still love watching shot breakdowns. I always forget how much work can go into a seemingly simple shot.

The sound design for “The Silent City” was by none other than Cream veteran Echolab. And from what I can tell in the trailer, it looks like Gavin outdid himself.
