Joaquín Baldwin’s “Papiroflexia” (Spanish for “Origami”) is an endearing short film that gently exalts the power of imagination. There aren’t any whiz-bang tricks or flashy CG bits to be found; it’s just heartfelt animation wrapped around a simple story.
Joaquín created “Papiroflexia” as a grad student at UCLA Animation Workshop, where he’s currently working on more short films.
Oh, and don’t miss “Sebastian’s Voodoo,” another project that shows off Joaquín’s penchant for narrative. Can’t wait to see what he turns out next.
