Ash Thorp teams up with friends to launch Learn Squared

Ash Thorp, Andrew Hawryluk, Maciej Kuciara and Anthony Jones have teamed up to launch Learn Squared, an offering of online courses that (for now) focus on concept development and design. 

There are three levels of enrollment. The Basic and Learn Squared plans let learners access video content whenever they want; while the Professional level provides real-time, chat-based interaction with the teacher.

“We release the educational content weekly, assigning homework,” says Ash about the Professional level. “Then we meet once a week with our mentorship students and have one on one time to go over the growth and hardships.”

One of the differentiators of Learn Squared is its co-teaching model. Classes are structured so that learners follow one artist teaching another artist from a different field.

Ash told us why this is crucial for them:

Learn Squared is designed around the idea of encouraging people to keep going, keep creating by dispelling the myth that talent is given. We believe its earned through repletion and hard work.

They will see me learning from my co-teacher and see my trials and tribulations along the way as well. So we are learning and failing together.
