Click 3X did a fantastic job creating the Sponsor Open for the 2007 Boards Summit.
Sponsor opens can be tricky. You have to display sponsors’ names/logos in such a way that they are prominent and memorable, which means you can’t simply parade them across them the screen one after the other. There must be some quirky system—either an engaging narrative or a flexible aesthetic—that wraps around everything.
When successful, the result works like Click 3X’s project: each sponsor is a surprise as we examine (literally, in this case) the world created for us.
What’s interesting is that instead of building an expansive graphical universe for a camera to zoom frantically around, Click 3X has decided to go microscopic. Each specimen is the basis of a vignette, modulating an impinging sense of claustrophobia with the feeling that these little critters before us could unfold forever.
