Hate doing this, but his 6 nations rugby 09 package is way to close to Digital Kitchen’s Dexter intro sequence.

@ damir.

I would disagree. DK doesn’t have a patent on close ups or hard cuts.

Great work Carlo!

Watch the Dexter sequence and look for these three shots: looking up at the mirror in the start, tying his shoes and putting his shirt on near the end.

U know there was a time when someone ripped off the idea of a simple edit. It was mind blowing at the time, maybe somewhere around 1908 -1915.

Now we are so far along people don’t even realize the origin of everyone’s sophisticated filmmaking vocabulary.

Identifying an editing similarity, within a 5 year window, with another company, reveals a historical perspective that is lacking.

But keep in mind any tahat informed their decisions. In fact, knowing all of those shots that work will mlented PROFESSIONAL filmmaker will point out the references in the other films make your decisions easier when you have to decide what is appropriate.

You have the entire history of film to help you decide what’s appropriate for what you are trying to communicate…Why not use it?

Hi guys, it is nice to see people watching what I’ve done with attention and comment on them. Hope you liked some of the stuff in there :)

About the rugby package I needed something strong, I couldn’t show any player, just to focus on the ritual of getting ready for the battle (match).
So given this brief and agreed with the client, what I tend to do having a design feedback (not director or photographer) is look for shots taken from movies and great videos and put them together in order to create a guideline raw clip with music that I use as a reference when I shoot the footage.

Even Tarantino’s movies are full of references from other movies. I think that is a good way for me to learn from the masters (light placement, photography etc) and the products as well should be better.
