Step by Step: Andrew Vucko

Chances are you’ve seen Andrew Vucko’s work before, either on one of the numerous posts we’ve done or the many other places around the web that are celebrating it his work.

When it comes to animation, Andrew is a powerhouse and is constantly putting out amazing work. Seriously, go check out his reel which just dropped here — amazing stuff! Thankfully for us, Andrew was kind enough to do a recording of his process for our Step by Step series. Here you can get an inside look at how one of the best in the 2D game works, from laying out his scenes in Illustrator to the finer details in After Effects.

Joe Donaldson

Joe Donaldson is a director, designer, and animator who worked on Motionograpgher from 2014-2020. Previously, he was an art director at Buck. Over the past decade, he's lived and worked in Chicago, New York City, and Los Angeles and has directed work for clients such as Apple, Google, Instagram, The New York Times, Unicef, Etsy, and The New Yorker. In addition to his creative work, in 2018 he started Holdframe. He's now working as a professor at Ringling College of Art and Design and when not teaching he can be found spending time with his family or out running.
