Andrew D. Zimbelman is an artist and filmmaker living and working in Rochester, NY. Originally trained as a fine artist in drawing and painting, he developed a love for film and animation throughout his undergraduate and graduate education. Since receiving his MFA from CalArts in Experimental Animation, Andrew has worked as a director, animator, and illustrator for clients such as HBO, The United Nations, NBC, AdoptUSKids, TED-Ed, and Google, to name a few. After four years in L.A. and eight years in NYC, Andrew moved his studio and art practice back to his hometown of Rochester, NY, with his wife and family.
When he’s not leading teams or working on commissioned projects in his studio, Andrew makes independent art that has won awards and been shown in film festivals and exhibitions worldwide. Andrew is represented as an Animation Director by The Foreign Correspondents’ Club.
