Just want to remind everybody of a few ground rules that have always been in place at Motionographer. Most of this stuff is on the About page, but I get enough email about it that it merits a quick post.
1. Money doesn’t get studios onto the Cream O’ the Crop. Nor do gifts. Only solid work does.
2. Sponsors are people who pay for banner advertisements. They are not people who pay to get posted anywhere else on the site.
3. This site is, in essence, a blog. That means it’s driven by the (fickle) tastes of the contributors. Yes, we get the same press releases as everyone else. But for every 20 press releases, we may post one project that we like. And if we quote a press release, we use—you guessed it—quotation marks! (I know, it’s a revolutionary idea.)
4. This site is about inspiration. We try not to be not Ebert & Roeper, giving thumbs up and down in a public forum. We try to post just the stuff we like and keep our comments positive and constructive. We think that’s a much better way of encouraging creativity than verbally destroying a piece.
We are incredibly appreciative of all of you, the readers. This site is for you. The tiny bits of money we make from advertising goes back into the site, not into our pockets.
