Yesterday, I posted a Quickie that exposed one of the most blatant rip-offs I’ve seen in recent years. The site being ripped was this one, Motionographer. The site doing the ripping was Vietnam VFX.

They had not only reproduced Motionographer’s layout (which is not, as some people assumed, a distributed WordPress template), they had lifted the Cream O’ the Crop and Motionographer’s About and Contact pages as well.
Well, today things are different. Vietnam VFX has a new layout (which I like, actually), and all is right in the universe. I just wanted to thank everyone for
their comments and vituperations on Motionographer’s behalf. It apparently worked.
I know a lot of you out there have had your work ripped off in some form or another. I’m planning on writing an in-depth article about the different forms of ripping that occur in the world of motion graphics. If you have a story you’d like to share with me, please send it to justin@dev.motionographer.com.
Special thanks to Motionographer contributor Sofus Graae for spotting the rip in the first place and riding this thing until the end.
