Over the weekend, we posted Shy the Sun’s “Sea Orchestra,” which, it turns out, was only one of five remarkable spots in a campaign from United Airlines and its new ad agency BD’M. For your viewing pleasure, here’s a roundup of the entire series:

All of theses are exceptionally beautiful. And I loved that, with the exception of ‘Two Worlds’ (mostly), they all had a hand crafted throwback style which rather than seeming dated made them feel classic and timeless – ‘Moondust’ and ‘Butterfly’ in particular. What brave creative :)

Agreed – this is a great set, and in many ways blows the flashiest digital mograph piece out of the water. Much more tactile, much more human. And sticking with Gershwin’s Rhapsody for over a decade doesn’t hurt either.

I love that United keeps investing in marketing like this. Among the others listed here, don’t forget the Quickie posted here awhile back…

Also, interesting that “Sea Orchestra” put some focus on the Killer Whale. Reminds me of an older United commercial…

All these pieces remind me of watching “the art Show” with my son. It was on HBO, and pretty good stuff.

Hearts, like Caliri’s prev Dragon, had me floored. Absolutely beautifully crafted and composed.

These spots are incredible together, and individually, stand out on their own, with each feeling entirely hand-made, like moving illustrations. Does anybody else think that “Sea Orchestra” was inspired from the seminal “Tale of How,” by The Black Heart Gang?
