Robert Seidel, the man behind the work of 2minds has created a wonderfully lush new piece designed specifically to be projected onto the Phyletic Museum in Jena, Germany. Seidel explains it as a”35 by 16 meter full facade projection with a corresponding light choreography, ambient music and synced sound effects” that was especially created for the 100th anniversary of the museum in Germany.
People like Seidel deserve serious respect from those of us in the industry for taking the harder route of creating something personal with their art instead of helping companies sell shoes and sugar water. It is especially impressive to see “motion graphics” techniques and technologies used as installation art. Even if projecting graphics onto a facade is nothing new, it is still a captivating experience, which is why some 20,000 people came to see Seidel’s work in Jena.
